Jay to DC

Jay went to Washington DC at the beginning of the month. For a work trip. It was a quick trip, but he was able to squeeze in a few of the sites. Wish I could have gone. It gets me excited thinking about all the history there is there.

EJ-isms

EJ keeps me laughing all the time. He says the funniest things. The other day he says to me:
"Nanny and pop-pop told me they are getting me a drum for Christmas"
Me " no I don't think so"
EJ "Yes they told me that. and Jaylee is getting a doll maybe 2"
Me: "What?"
EJ "I don't remember what Jett is getting........ hmmmm oh yeah a kick in the bumm. Pop-pop said we were getting a doll a drum, and a kick in the bum"
Me: "Cracking up and explaining to EJ that pop-pop used to say that to mom all the time, it didn't mean you were really getting a doll, a drum and a kick in the bum.
He was so disappointed.

Then the next morning this conversation
Me: "EJ I think you need a haircut"
EJ " yeah..... no wait I want to grow it out so it is puffy all over"
Me: "what are you talking about?"
EJ "you know its puffy like a circle, then you can stick a comb in it and be a DJ! I want an afro!"
Me: laughing, really EJ
EJ: "Yeah afro's are cool."

He was so sad when I told him his hair wouldn't do an afro.

I love him to death and his sweet personality. He is so fun

Halloween Pics

Finally some Halloween Pics : ) I have had issues uploading these. It has been driving me crazy. Here are pictures of the kids in their costumes. My Mom made all of their costumes. She is amazing, and makes sure they are decked from head to toe! Love you Mom. Jett had so much fun this year, He would say "trick-or-treat", "thank you" and "Happy Halloween" at every door. Which is a big deal for my little guy who doesn't like to talk haha.

New Reader

I have a daughter who has found a LOVE for reading. I am so excited. Part of our decision to homeschool, came from her teacher discouraging her reading. Telling her she couldn't read chapter books, etc. (Are you kidding me?) She had been reading them at home for quite a while. She became very discouraged and didn't really like to read.
Well today we have made a step in our journey. We went to the library and she chose 3 books to read. We came home and she read the entire book today!! I am so proud of her. She probably now needs to challenge herself a little more, but everytime she had a spare moment her nose was in her book.
It was so fun to see her enjoy reading again, be happy and love to read. Yeah! we may be succeeding in developing a love for learning in our home.
This may not be a big step for all but definately a big step for Jaylee after last year. Love you bug.

October Fun

We had a busy October, here are a few pics of what we have been up too

Early October we took a field trip, with our neighbors across the street to Cornbelly's at Thanksgiving Pointe for Homeschool Day. We had a lot of fun. The kids had a scary moment. The "kiddie" Corn Maze had part knocked down that connected to the huge corn maze, they ended up lost in the "Big" Corn maze for quite a while! They said they sat and prayed then started wlking and finally heard us calling for them, and followed our voices out. Scary moment, but they all said their prayers were answered. Sweet kids.

All of our cute kiddos on the Hayride. Jaylee has so much fun with these girls. We are so lucky to live around so many great families with kids our kids age!

This is after they were lost in the Corn maze, good sports about the whole thing. Which was good, because their mom was nervous! : )

A family night favorite, Pumpkin Carving. It was a lot of fun this year, because the kiddos could do so much more. Except Jett, who just kept trying to eat the pumpkin guts. haha Love it!
